Why is it good, alright, annoying or shit?:
So here’s the story; the Llangennith surf report said there were little waves so I shot home from work grabbed my new Kiri Surf Paipo, super excited for the maiden voyage I headed to the beach. Skipped across the dunes, like the teenager my head and heart are (can’t say the same for my legs, knees and ankles! They didn’t like the skipping so much!) Arrived at the sea’s edge to be welcomed with glorious glassy waist high wedges of summer wave perfection! Popped the fins on and paddled out.
The Paipo felt very different to anything I’ve tried before, a lot less floaty than a boogie board and a whole lot less floaty and much less saggier than my surfmat.
I paddled for my first wave and only bloody caught it first try! The Paipo felt very intuitive, I paddle prone holding the board out in front as soon as the swell picked me up, I started planing, pulled the board under me and shot off along a clean green little crystal wall!
Things just got better from there! I had some super fun, fast hollow waves and only missed a few. No question that there was no happier person in the water.
Great looking, great functioning wave craft. I’m super stoked and gagging to get it in again.
What would make it better (if anything)?:
Proof that the oiling is more robust that a PU coat? (Only because the board is so lovely and I’m used to “modern” waterproofing and keep checking to see if it’s sucking).
Would you buy another when this one falls apart?:
After 2 fabulous fun sessions on it I would definitely buy another.
Where can we get one?:
