Being ageing surfers we all have time constraints, whether it’s picking little Johnny up from school or getting that quick session in before work, we are all slaves to some kind of time restriction. But what is the best watch to keep an eye on the time while you’re catching that killer wave?

Casio’s line of G-Shock watches have always been a stalwart of heavy wearable time keepers, but they now have a range of watches with the surfer in mind.

The GBX-100 range is in my opinion an absolute must have for anyone looking at catching the right tide at the right time. They feature a tide graph which can be set to the location of your choice from 3300 through the G-Shock app, and gives high and low tide times as well as an easy to view graph on the dial. The watch also connects to your phone via bluetooth and gives various notifications from messages to Instagram alerts, but these can be turned of if you don’t want to be disturbed. All of the watch settings can be done via the app which makes it a lot easier to set alarms and time.

Being a G-Shock it is water resistant to 200m and is bullet proof. The dial is easy to read, but if your eye sight is getting bad you can adjust the display from showing time and tide information to just having a large time display readable by the oldest of eyes.The watch is comfortable and the strap will easily fit over the top of a wetsuit for when you’re out having fun, but just as comfortable for everyday use.
