Thirty quid for a beanie?! Thirty quid?! But I’ve gotta say, that’s the only bugbear I’ve got about this beanie. It’s super warm, it’s comfy, and fits pretty well. (I’ve got a big head so would probably fit most people with un-hideously-bumpy-craniums a bit better.)

Finisterre do have a reputation for being on the pricey side, but I find it’s kinda justifiable most of the time; assuming you don’t lose it (and I’ve lost a lot of hats) it’ll probably work out kinda cost effective after a few years when it’s still holding up, but that initial outlay does kinda sting, and has made me knock off a star. It’s pure merino wool (whatever that is) so be careful washing it if you don’t wanna end up with it shrinking small enough to fit your toddler, but it feel loads better than crappy nylon/poly rip-offs.

They’re a good company to support too I think, they’re Cert B (which means they’re good to the environment), they’re homegrown (Cornwall based), and they genuinely do seem to care as much about what the product does and how it performs as they do about how it looks.
